Fly Control

They are present everywhere, more especially in particular seasons like the rains. They carry on their body, more than 100 pathogenic germs that cause diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, typhoid, fever, dysentery, salmonellosis et al.  These pests are very harmful to human beings and should not be allowed to thrive. Flies breed in any decaying, rotting organic matter like garbage, filth, excreta, manure etc. Garbage dumps attract flies for food and to lay eggs. Flies carry bits of these rotting matters along with their saliva on their bodies and later contaminate surfaces, food, and human environment leading to transmission of diseases.

Apart from the house flies, there are other kinds of flies like cluster flies, flesh flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, which carry more deadly diseases causing bacteria; hence they should be eradicated as prevention is better than cure.

We use insecticides that come in residual forms, aerosols, fogging materials, and baiting forms. The key to managing flies lies in sanitation and eliminating fly-breeding sites, i.e. the material to which they are attracted to and on which they lay eggs.  One is advised to follow thorough sanitation, and ensure trash are kept in sealed containers (in trash bags and/or cans with tight-fitting lids).  All surfaces must be kept as clean as possible. Any dirty or decaying material should be promptly removed. Also, eliminate areas of excessive moisture.
